Starting your own blog with minimal web design experience can be extremely daunting. When I first started my blog, I had no idea what I was doing or even where to start. I had to do a ton of research and figure a lot of things out through trial and error in order to have the blog I have today. My goal in starting the “Blogging” section of my website is to help anyone who wants to start a blog, but is intimidated by the prospect to gain the confidence and skills to build, publicize, and monetize their dream website!

When I first started my blog, I was SO intimidated by the prospect of starting a website. Words like “platform” and “host” meant nothing to me. I was a cook; NOT a web designer. I was so lost. I really wanted to share my recipes and stories with the world, but was worried that I would never be able to start a blog without the proper computer skills and background. I almost gave up several times, but I was absolutely determined to make my dream of having my very own food blog a reality. It turned out to be much easier than I thought it would be.
I spent hours and hours and HOURS scouring the web, reading books, talking to friends who had knowledge of web design, watching tutorials, and taking classes. Now, I know how to insert HTML codes into my blog, configure plug-ins, cache my site, and basically do all the day-to-day computer stuff needed to have a successful blog completely on my own. I’ve also managed to grow and monetize my blog in just a few short months of starting it! I gained a ton of computer, web design, and general blogging knowledge over time and now I want to share everything I’ve learned with you, so your blogging journey can be a bit easier than mine was.
I don’t want ANYONE who’s thinking of starting a blog to give up sharing their knowledge and experiences with the world because they’re nervous about the tech and web design aspects of it. That’s why I started this “Blogging” section of A Bite of Inspiration. I want aspiring and new bloggers who are feeling overwhelmed to have a safe space to turn to with sound advice and tips to help them. You WILL make plenty of mistakes and run into road blocks—everybody does! I still have tech issues with my blog every now and then that I have to resolve. Even, really seasoned bloggers do! But, the important part is to not get discouraged and to never give up! Running a blog has a huge learning curve and I’m still learning every day.
I’m still no tech genius, but starting out with literally no knowledge to having my very own, successful blog makes me well-equipped to help others who are in the same boat. I know what it feels like—I’ve been there and I’ve succeeded! Let me help you too!
I plan to add posts to the “Blogging” section of my blog about once a month. They will cover a wide range of topics designed for both general blogging and food blogging.
“Blogger Resources” will cover topics, such as:
-how to start a blog
– how to monetize a blog
– the best plug-ins to use
– social media for bloggers
– how to increase traffic
– and much more!
“Food Blogger Resources” will cover topics, such as:
– how I improved my food photography
– the best plug-ins, themes, etc. for food blogging
– the best ways for food bloggers to generate traffic
– how I come up with my recipe and post ideas
You can always comment on my posts or contact me directly through the “Contact Us” page anytime with specific questions and I will be happy to answer them! I know what it’s like to feel confused during the blogging process with nowhere to turn, and I don’t want anyone else to ever feel that way! I’m here to help you! Let’s go on this blogging journey together and I promise you it’s well-worth it!
