My name is Alyssa. Lifelong foodie. Cupcake addict. Party planning extraordinaire. Lover of all things pink and sparkly.
I love meditation, yoga, hiking, and the outdoors. I always try to cook and eat mindfully because food isn’t just nourishment for your body—it’s a sensory experience.
I’ve loved cooking and creating my own dishes ever since I can remember. When I was about 10 years old, I made some sort of basil, tomato, olive oil, and pasta concoction that my parents loved (or at least pretended to!) That simple dish sparked my interest in cooking. Soon after that, I began creating multi-course meals for my parents on weekends. I adorned myself in a flowery apron and insisted that they had to stay seated during the cooking of all 5 courses like a “real restaurant” (this was sometimes 4 hours—my parents are champs.) The rest is history.
When I’m not cooking, you can find me watching Food Network, playing dress up, scrapbooking, or eating at tapas restaurants with my fiancé.
- Amazing meals don’t just happen on their own. They come from a place of creativity, imagination, and, of course, inspiration. I believe that food should not only nourish you, but make you feel alive and connected. This is why I chose food inspiration as the core theme of my blog. The recipes are inspired by my experiences, but they are also meant to inspire you, as well. I want cooking and eating my recipes to remind you of an experience that was similar to mine, while at the same time being all your own.
- When I design a recipe, I am inspired by taste first and foremost, followed by health. I believe that food should make you feel strong, nourished, and happy, but none of that is possible if it doesn’t taste good. I create recipes that prioritize taste, but also make your body and mind feel good about what you’re consuming. You’ll mostly find healthy recipes here, many of which are gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, or vegan, but you’ll also occasionally find a “less healthy” recipe that just tastes amazing (I’m only human after all).
Thank you so much for stopping by! I really hope you enjoy my stories and recipes! I want to create dishes that inspire as much in you, as they do in me. I love feedback, so feel free to comment or contact me anytime! I look forward to hearing from you! Until then, keep cooking and stay inspired! <3
