Frequently Asked Questions
Can I share your photos or recipes on my website or blog?
Yes! Thank you for asking! I love when my readers enjoy a recipe or photo so much that they want to share it.
There’s just a few ground rules that need to be followed to keep everything fair.
- Recipes: Please do NOT copy and paste a recipe onto another website without prior consent. Instead, LINK to the recipe. If you are interested in sharing a recipe, please hyperlink to the original post on my website and give clear credit to www.abiteofinspiration.com.
- Photos: Please credit all food/recipe/travel photos taken by me (see last question on FAQ page) with two links: one back to the recipe post and another one back to www.abiteofinspiration.com.
Thanks for sharing and if you have any questions about sharing, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you design your recipes based on specific dietary restrictions?
Yes and No. I like to have a large variety of recipes on my blog, so I don’t restrict myself to one particular type of dietary restriction (i.e. gluten-free, vegan, etc). That being said, I still try to generally be conscious of allergies and dietary restrictions that my readers may have.
A lot of my close friends and relatives struggle with food allergies, including my mom who has a gluten intolerance. Because of this, many of the recipes on my website are categorized by certain common diets, such as gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, vegan, and vegetarian. These are meant to make it easier for people with these restrictions to find recipes that are best suited for them. My recipes may fall under one or two of these categories, all of them, or none of them. They are simply a guide and not a rule. You’ll find many recipes on my blog that don’t fall into any of these categories! I just want to make sure the ones that do are easy for people to find.
Are all your recipes “healthy”?
While most of my recipes are designed with health in mind, I firmly believe that taste is the most important part of any dish. Healthy food should taste good and make you feel invigorated. I want to show you that food made with fresh, healthy ingredients, as well as less oil and fat can taste every bit as delicious and decadent as any other food.
To that end, most of my recipes tend to be on the lighter side because I personally think that food is the tastiest that way. HOWEVER, you will definitely find some recipes that are on the greasier, richer side on my blog because I like to eat that type of food sometimes too. I don’t really like to categorize food as “junk” or “unhealthy” because I feel that there is a place for any food we like in our diets.
What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
This question is SO hard because I pretty much like everything. I really love Asian food, particularly Thai and Japanese. I’m also a huge fan of Italian, Spanish, and Mediterranean food, as well. I adore mezze, tapas, and dim sum because they’re small plates, which makes them great for parties, as well as tasting a lot of different things in one meal. Then there’s Mexican, BBQ, American… you get the picture. Due to my clear inability to actually pick a favorite cuisine, you’ll see recipes from all sorts of different regions on my blog. Be adventurous and enjoy!
Do you take all your own photos?
Yes! ALL food, cooking, recipe, and travel photos are my own. Every single one of these photos was taken by me using my DSLR or my iPhone 5s.
I also occasionally use royalty-free stock photos from pexels.com of non-food, non-travel related things (i.e. a carved pumpkin, someone running, etc). All these photos are licensed under Creative Commons Zero making them free for personal and commercial use with no attribution required.
Most of the photos taken by me have the “A Bite of Inspiration” watermark in the bottom right corner, EXCEPT for a few photos in earlier posts before I started adding the watermark. All those photos are owned by me and if you choose to share them (which is great!), you must follow the photo sharing guidelines outlined in the first FAQ on this page or the Terms and Conditions page.
I would like to thank my amazing fiancé for suggesting that I write a food blog to begin with. I love you and I can’t wait to share a lifetime of food adventures with you!
Also, a huge thank you to my parents for being my biggest fans, and my close friends and family for their unwavering support.
I would also like to extend an extra special thank you to my very best friend (you know who you are) for being my unofficial “Director of Communications” and helping me so much with the layout and social media aspects of the blog. Also, for being my taste tester, emotional support, and all around inspiration. I couldn’t have done it without you bear!
Finally, I would like to thank all my readers for helping me live out my dream of inspiring people through cooking. Thanks for stopping by and for your all your support!
