Have you ever heard of Yummly? It’s a fantastic resource for anyone who loves food or cooking! It’s basically like a giant online cookbook with thousands of recipes that you can put into your virtual “recipe box” and save for later! Keep reading to find out how! Also, read about some new inspiration I’ve had recently and new recipes coming to the blog!
GUYS! I’m super excited to announce that I am now a publisher on Yummly! If you love to cook and you haven’t heard of Yummly, you’re missing out! It’s a fantastic resource for cooks, foodies, and food bloggers alike!
It’s basically like a giant online cookbook with thousands of recipes that you can put into your virtual “recipe box” and save for later! If you click on the orange “yum” button at the bottom of every single one of my recipe posts, you can easily add all my recipes to your box. You can also “yum” my recipes straight from my Yummly Publisher’s Page at http://yummly.com/page/abiteofinspiration. Get started on the Yummly website or download the free app to start “yumming” my recipes and thousands of others today!
I promise you, this simple app and website is every home cook’s dream! Personally, I was addicted to the app long before I even started my food blog. It’s super easy to use. All you do is scroll through the wide selection of recipes on the app or site, and click the “yum” button to add it to your box. You can also add recipes to your box straight from any wesbite or blog (including mine!) that has an orange “yum” button on their page.
In other news, I’ve had a lot of new inspiration in my life recently, including:
- A recent trip to Philadelphia to see a friend from college who’s leaving on a trip around the world soon (so jealous!) We had some fantastic food while we were there, including some gorgeous fried chicken and churro donuts (cinammon sugar glaze– need I say more?) We also checked out Independence Hall and some cool local markets. All in all, a successful (and inspiring) trip!
- I’ve been reminiscing recently about a trip I took to Hawaii back in May. My best friend and I went to Oahu to visit a friend who lives there and spent tons of time hiking, relaxing on the beach, and, of course, eating amazing food! Especially with the weather getting colder here, I’ve been dreaming about being back on Waikiki beach drinking fresh juice out of a coconut and soaking up the warm, bright sun. I’d been thinking about my Hawaii trip as inspiration for a long time, but wanted to do absolute justice to such a perfect paradise. Good news! I finally came up with a gorgeous, delicious recipe that will make you feel like you’re relaxing on a beach in Hawaii right in your own kitchen. I won’t give it away, but I will say that it involves pineapple (obviously!) and pork (a huge staple in Hawaiin cuisine).
- The holiday season! I can’t help it. All the music and decorations just gets me in an inspired and festive mood.
In the next month or two, I plan to add several more recipes inspired by travel, as well as some new lifetstyle recipes! I’ll also be adding the spiced hot chocolate recipe that I promised. The weather is getting colder (for a lot of us) and it’s the perfect treat to warm up! Stay tuned and stay warm!
