Frequently Asked Questions
Can I share your photos or recipes on my website or blog?
Thank you for asking! I love when my readers enjoy a recipe or photo so much that they want to share it.
Here are the ground rules that need to be followed to keep everything fair:
- Recipes: You may not share full recipes from A Bite of Inspiration without my consent. Please do NOT copy and paste a recipe onto another website. This is a copyright violation. If you want to share a recipe, you may do so by linking to the original recipe on abiteofinspiration.com.
- Photos: Please credit all food/recipe/travel photos taken by me (see last question on FAQ page) with a link back to the original post/recipe or the homepage of abiteofinspiration.com. Taking one of my photos without giving credit is a copyright violation, so please make sure that clear credit is given to A Bite of Inspiration anytime you share a photo on another site or blog.
Thanks for sharing and if you have any questions about sharing, please feel free to contact me at alyssa@abiteofinspiration.com.
Where can I learn more about the inspiration aspect of your blog?
I love this question! The inspiration aspect of my blog is what makes it unique and is the foundation for all my recipes. All the recipes on my blog fall into one of four inspiration categories: travel, lifestyle, entertainment, or celebration. Each recipe uses the tagline “A Bite Inspired By…”, so you know exactly what inspired each dish right away. To learn more about the different inspiration categories and the overall vision of my blog, visit the Inspiration page here.
I have a dietary restriction. Where can I learn more about how dietary restrictions are addressed on A Bite of Inspiration?
While A Bite of Inspiration doesn’t follow any specific allergy or dietary restriction, I still try to be conscious of restrictions that my readers may have. If a recipe is vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, nut-free, or gluten-free, it will say so on the recipe card under “Cuisine”, so those who follow these diets can find them more easily. You can also search for recipes that fall under these diets in the search bar or recipe index. To learn more about allergies and special diets on this site, please see the Food Philosophy page here.
What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
This question is SO hard because I like pretty much everything! I really love Asian food, particularly Thai and Japanese. I’m also a huge fan of Italian, Spanish, and Mediterranean food. I adore mezze, tapas, and dim sum because they’re small plates, so they allow you to taste lots of different dishes in one meal. I’m also a fan of Mexican, BBQ, American… you get the picture. Due to my clear inability to actually pick a favorite cuisine, you’ll see recipes from all sorts of different regions on my blog. Be adventurous and enjoy!
Do you take all your own photos?
Yes! ALL food, cooking, recipe, and travel photos are my own. Every single one of these photos was taken by me using my DSLR or my iPhone 7. Those photos are owned by me and if you choose to share them (which is great!), you must follow the photo sharing guidelines outlined in the first FAQ on this page or the Terms and Conditions page.
I also occasionally use royalty-free stock photos from pexels.com of non-food, non-travel related things (i.e. a carved pumpkin, someone running, etc). All these photos are licensed under Creative Commons Zero making them free for personal and commercial use with no attribution required.
Acknowledgments
I would like to thank my amazing fiancé for suggesting that I write a food blog to begin with. I love you and I can’t wait to share a lifetime of food adventures with you!
Also, a huge thank you to my parents for being my biggest fans, and my close friends and family for their unwavering support.
I would also like to extend an extra special thank you to my very best friend (you know who you are) for being my unofficial “Director of Communications” and helping me so much with the layout and social media aspects of the blog. Also, for being my taste tester, emotional support, and all around inspiration. I couldn’t have done it without you bear!
Finally, I would like to thank all my readers for helping me live out my dream of inspiring people through cooking. Thanks for stopping by and for your all your support!
